About the Artist
Amy Barratt-Jones (1984) is a visual artist whose practice centers on transformation through imperfection. Working primarily with sculptural objects and spatial interventions, she explores the territory between control and surrender, that is where growth begins.
Her earlier series NOW examined presence and stillness in an overstimulated world. Her current body of work, FAIL (First Attempt In Learning), takes a different approach: embracing vulnerability as a creative force. Each piece is created in a single attempt, no revision, no safety net. What appears minimal on the surface carries within it risk, doubt, and courage.
FAIL reframes failure not as the opposite of success, but as its foundation. By working intuitively and allowing uncertainty into her process, Barratt-Jones transforms fear into form. Her work creates space for viewers to slow down, reflect, and recognize themselves in the gap between perfection and possibility, where confidence and happiness truly begin.
